Hybrid Tea.
Golden-yellow, orange highlights. Bud orange overlaid indian red; flowers golden orange, often with red on outer petals. Strong fragrance. 25 to 30 petals. Average diameter 5". Very large, very double, exhibition, high-centered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Upright. Dark green, leathery foliage.
Height of 31" to 39" (80 to 100 cm). Width of up to 2' (up to 60 cm).
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Very vigorous. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

When gold was found on his land in 1848, he was ruined by the chaos of the Gold Rush.
